A four-figure sum of cash was stolen from the Calder Road Scotmid
SHOPPERS reported police standing guard at a Scotmid today after it was raided by housebreakers.

The Calder Road branch of the supermarket was cordoned off by officers earlier.

Police Scotland confirmed the store had been hit by a "break-in" in the early hours and thousands of pounds in cash stolen.

Detective Sergeant David Wright said: "I am keen to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area of Calder Road between 12.30am and 1.15am this morning.

"The premises are located on a very busy road and although this break-in happened in the early hours, it is anticipated that members of the public may have been passing by.

"We are currently carrying out a review of CCTV in effort to establish those responsible but if you have anyone information, please contact us on 101 quoting 0018 of Monday 9 September. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
