I don’t have many regrets in life, other than not getting a picture with Amy Winehouse when I interviewed her back in 2004 (long before selfies) and it genuinely keeps me awake at night.

However, apart from that, I can probably only pick out a few major regrets. My most recent one is not giving a bit of "what for" when on Radio 2 with Jeremy Vine.

I'm a huge fan of Jeremy and I adore his interview style, knowledge and skills but I wish I'd put my brain into action before I answered one of his questions. I think I was just taken back by his energy, he's truly great at what he does.

We were discussing lockdown and this was a few weeks ago so things were not looking as bad as they are now and we discussed the government’s response to Covid.

He asked me if I thought big Nic waited to see what Westminster decided then put her restrictions in place. I can't remember what I said but what I wish I'd said was "No way! If anything it's the complete and utter opposite."

We always seem to be announcing a restriction then about two weeks later Bojo says the same thing. It's actually getting a bit embarrassing and cringe-worthy watching the copied and delayed announcements coming from Westminster.

In fact, by the time you read this, he'll probably be wearing a tartan suit, high heels and speaking with a Scottish accent – could you imagine!
