Bid for extension granted
East Lothian Council refused to grant permission to the Patersons after they asked to carry out the work at their home in Longniddry.
But the Scottish Government has now overruled that decision, and told the family to go ahead with the proposal at Seton Mains.

Hide AdPlanning reporter Ronald Jackson said although there would be some impact locally, it was not sufficient to justify refusal.
He added: “The extension has been designed to appear as an integral part of the original building. It would be in keeping with the original house and, because of its size, would be subservient thereto.”
