A man has been arrested following a major incident in a residential street.

Armed police were called to ‘a disturbance’ in the Muirfield Way area of Livingston at about 4.30pm today.

A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital and a 32-year-old man has been arrested.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A police spokeswoman said: “We were called around 4.20pm on Saturday, 7 March, to a report of a disturbance in the Muirfield Way area of Livingston. Armed police were in attendance.

“A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“A 32-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
