Man arrested after assault and fire at house in Edinburgh's Davidson's Mains

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault at a house in Main Street, in the Davidson’s Main district of northwest Edinburgh, on Monday.
It comes after two fire engines were spotted outside alongside police cars the address earlier this afternoon.

Hide AdOn Twitter, one eyewitness said officers and firefighters were “knocking on house doors” in the street at around 2:40pm this afternoon.
A spokesperson for The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that their crews were called out to a house fire in Main Street at 2:17pm today.
Now, Police Scotland have confirmed that a 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault at the house at around 3.15pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.”

Hide AdTwo police cars also accompanied the two fire engines outside the address, access to which was blocked with police tape.
