‘Golden chance’ to cut back public sector pay packets
The Scottish Government has already said there is an “expectation” that top salaries are cut by ten per cent for new appointees and bonuses will be removed.
But Scottish Green leader Patrick Harvie said the chief executive vacancies at Creative Scotland and Scottish Water meant ministers could go further.

Hide AdHe said: “The lowest paid public sector workers are enduring real-terms cuts.
“Trimming salaries and shelving bonuses is fine, but the bigger issue is that pay packets of over £100,000 a year should be the exception and not the norm. Continuing to pay over the odds is increasingly inappropriate as more families are pushed into poverty.”
