SCOTLAND’S three main party leaders appeared to be putting politics aside today to give their support to tennis champion Andy Murray as he played in the semi-final of the Australian Open.

Tory Ruth Davidson was first to flag up her preference for watching the tennis instead of getting ready for First Minister’s Questions by tweeting: “Hmm... FMQ prep Vs tennis.... #comeonandy”

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon responded: “@RuthDavidsonMSP I’m sure we could come to some arrangement - @kdugdalemsp?”

Ms Davidson tweeted back to say “Ok, I’ll bring the snack - let’s use your office. Kez, you in?”

Labour’s Kezia Dugdale replied to the other two: “Yes, there in a minute, looking for the Pimms.”
