Bantamweight Lee McGregor made short work of Kamil Jaworek as the Edinburgh youngster secured his second victory of his professional career at the Leicester Arena on Saturday night.

Following a debut first-round stoppage at the Royal Highland Centre last month, the 20-year-old was again head and shoulders above his Polish opponent before the contest was brought to a halt in the second round.

The Scottish and British 56kg champion will now reluctantly take some time off over the Christmas break before preparing for a busy 2018 in the ring.

“It was a good performance. I got to showcase my skills a little more but nowhere near what I am capable of,” McGregor said. “He was more durable than my last opponent but as the opponents get better then I’ll improve myself.

“I would fight every week if I could. I’ll have a wee break over Christmas but then I’ll be right back to the gym. I hope to be back out in February or March time and get another win. I want titles soon so hopefully I can pick one up next year. I just want to keep working hard and impressing.”
