City of Edinburgh are out for revenge in the women's Scottish Volleyball Cup after easing into the semi-finals at the weekend.

The Capital team brushed aside Caledonia West, from League One, 25-10, 25-19, 25-23 and now face holders Su Ragazzi in the semi-finals.

Ragazzi ended City of Edinburgh’s interest last season when they knocked them out in the quarter-final stage after a thrilling five-set encounter.

This year’s semi-final line-up will feature three Edinburgh teams with NUVOC facing Edinburgh University in the other semi-final.

NUVOC took care of Glasgow International in straight sets at the weekend 25-10, 25-21, 25-19 and the students overcame Edinburgh Jets in three tight sets 25-22, 25-17, 26-24.

In the quarter-finals of the men’s Scottish Cup, City of Edinburgh came through comfortably at League One Lenzie 25-13, 25-21, 25-11.

They now take on Su Ragazzi II, the League One leaders, in the semi-finals – Ragazzi II having beaten Glasgow Mets 25-23, 25-21, 25-14 on Saturday.

Edinburgh University are out, losing their quarter-final to South Ayrshire 17-25, 11-25, 19-25.
