Spartans boss Dougie Samuel is targeting a quick return to winning ways when his side host bottom club Preston Athletic on league business tonight.

The Lowland League outfit were knocked out of the South Region Challenge Cup on Saturday by city rivals and East of Scotland side Tynecastle – Louis Swanson with the only goal of the game three minutes before the interval.

And Samuel believes his players have the perfect opportunity to make amends for their weekend defeat by picking up all three points this evening.

“The most important thing is we have a game tonight so you’re not having to wait too long to put things right,” he said. “I’m not really thinking about who we’re playing to be honest. We’ll make some changes and try and put right some of the things that went wrong against Tynecastle on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Civil Service Strollers travel to league leaders East Kilbride tomorrow night.
