A creepy Burke and Hare themed escape room is coming to Edinburgh Dungeons
and live on Freeview channel 276

If you and your friends love solving puzzles, then this is the perfect game for you. Here’s everything you need to know about the creepy attraction.
What happens at the escape room?
The story is that you and your crew are transported back to 1812, and are now Scotland’s top crime investigators. You’ve been tasked with finding Edinburgh’s most infamous serial killers - William Burke and William Hare.

Hide AdYou’ll need to follow the clues through Edinburgh’s dark past and solve the puzzles in order to lock up the notorious criminals for good.
“Inspect Dr Knox’s anatomy theatre, venture through creepy back alleys and graveyards and uncover the final clue in the puzzle at Tanner’s Close lodging house,” the game description states.
If you fail to solve the mystery, then into the afterlife you will be trapped - can you catch Burke and Hare before they catch you?
Where and when is it on?
The escape room will be located inside the Edinburgh Dungeon, located in the heart of the city.

Hide AdIt will run on the following dates: 5 and 6 December, 12 and 13 December, 19 and 20 December 2019. For these dates, you can choose between the following times: 6pm, 6:30pm, 7pm, 7:30pm and 8pm.
The game will also run on 7 December, 14 December and 21 December 2019, but only at the following times: 7:30pm, 8pm, 8:30pm and 9pm.
Time slots are available on a first come, first serve basis and you must reserve a spot at least 30 minutes in advance.

Tickets are on sale for the escape room and you can buy them online on the Edinburgh Dungeon website.

Hide AdTickets cost £20 per person and to take part in the escape room, teams are a minimum of two players and a maximum of six.

- The game lasts one hour

Hide Ad- The escape room is “suitable for peasants of all ages” according to the website, but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and it’s not recommended for under 8s
- You will not be permitted to the game if you’ve been drinking alcohol
- You must arrive 15 minutes before your time slot, or else you will lose your slot and will not receive a refund
- You’re not allowed to switch times or dates after booking your tickets, so make sure you choose the correct date and time for your group

Walking
From Edinburgh Waverley station, the Dungeon is next to the Market Street Waverley entrance.
Bus
The best course for those looking to get a bus is to jump on a Lothian Bus and get off outside of Edinburgh Waverley station.

Buses that stop outside Waverley station are: 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 27, 29, 37, 38, 104, 113, 1, 4, 22, 25, 34, 124, X44, X26, X24, X15, X25, X5.
Driving
The Edinburgh Dungeon does not offer any parking on site, but there are NCP car parks nearby on Castle Terrace and at Holyrood Road for those looking to take the car.
